Bed Refreshment!

It's been quite awhile since I've posted on our blog....I hope everyone is doing well!

Around Christmastime, I decided our master bedroom bedding was getting dull...the old was becoming....well, old....not to mention, I was completely bored of the colors!   So, I found an inexpensive white quilt and decided to bring in my own colors.  (No, I didn't make the quilt....I wanted something on the spot, ready to go!)   What I love:  if I get bored with THIS color scheme, I can easily change it!

I spent an evening making pillowcases....9 in all...and what a fabulous look it made with the new white quilt.     It was an inexpensive option compared to purchasing new pillow shams + throw pillows, and I got to choose the colors I wanted!

Here's a peek at the new pillowcases....that is Pebbles (Chihuahua) sitting there in the middle, looking oh-so-comfortable!

And here is a swatch card I made, showing the huge lot of fabrics I combined to get this look:

Yes, it's a huge mix:  I tried to combine both feminine & masculine in this grouping....by using some of the pieces just for pillowcase borders, it was easy to incorporate a big variety without some of the prints being too over-powering.

In case you want give this a try, I've put together a bundle that will let you make 6 pillowcases, they are my favorites from this aqua-blue grouping!

If these aren't "your" colors, that's okay....the possibilities are endless, as this idea can used with your favorite colors and prints!

Consider using some of those pieces in your stash you love,  but just haven't had the heart to cut into....this way, you can enjoy them every day!

It's great to have a fresh, new look....and I love the sense of accomplishment!
