Starting Fresh and a Giveaway!

Hi there! I'm Lindsey!
I am excited to be the newest member of the Fort Worth Fabric Studio Blog.  I am thrilled to be joining the Fort Worth Fabric Studio team and hope we can get to know each other a little better. :)  To start, I just wanted to share a few tidbits about myself:  I have been married to my best friend for 7 years and we have three beautiful children.  When I’ m not chasing after my little one’s and cleaning up messes— I enjoy sewing, blogging (you can check out my own blog here), running, baking, watching netflix, and eating. Yes, eating is a hobby of mine.  I take my food very seriously! :)  So now that you know me a little better, I want to share with you what I have in store for the Fort Worth Fabric Studio blog!

I have some fun new projects, and tutorials up my sleeve! I am going to be working with Fort Worth Fabric Studio's awesome bundles--and will be sharing with you fun new sewing tutorials and quilt patterns.   If you haven’t already checked out the bundles offered at the shop, then you really need to!  Jodie has a knack for making beautiful bundles by combining different fabrics and prints by all different designers.
Along with the projects, there are going to be lots of giveaways!  Fort Worth Fabric Studio is going to be giving away anything from fabric bundles, gift certificates, and notions.  So be sure to check back each week for the newest giveaway.

In addition to the giveaways and projects, I will be showcasing different patterns, notions, the newest bundles (including the Friday Bundle Batch),  and I will let you know of current sales and coupon codes to the store.

Now, for the best part of this post!  We are going to start things off with a bang! One lucky reader is going to get a gift certificate to the Fort Worth Fabric Studio for $50.00.

To enter all you need to do is answer the following question:

What sewing/quilting tutorials do you want to see this year?

Giveaway is now closed

****Be sure to leave your email if you are posting anonymously, or are a no-reply blogger. That way we can contact you if you win! :)

Good Luck, and I'll talk to you soon!

Congrats, Lindsey! I am sew excited to see that you and Jodie are working together on the blog! This is fantastic!!! Tutorials? Hmmm.... To start with, I think it would be great to see tutorials geared towards newer quilters. And then work your way to showing more advanced techniques. How about a tutorial on making HST's? I know there are a few methods for this and it would be great to see one tutorial that covers each method. Then we could choose the one that suits our taste!

Leslie said...

I'm just getting into quilting so a tips/suggestions/things you wish you knew starting out would be fun. Thanks!

Rosieq said...

I think Lorna's suggestion is great, helping the new Newbies learn at a steady pace, but once a month or so, toss is something for the more experienced person, perhaps making it a challenge! I really need help in quilting the smaller quilts, table runners and bags...on my sewing machine, free motion or following a design. Thanks for asking...and welcome aboard.

How about some math lessons on figuring sashing, borders and such. For the newbies how about a quick tip day on how many such and such can you get out of a fat quarter, fat eighth, things like that. I found that so helpful when I first started. Also teaching them about the 'grain of fabric' is so [important especially for borders so they aren't wavy. Something like Newbie Tip of The Week? :)
