PS: I would love to have a real Christmas tree, and I was this close to buying one this year.  However, with a two year old in the house who can't leave the tree alone, I didn't want to vacuum up pine needles the rest of my life. :)  So we bought a new "fake" tree this year, that is pre-lit! Can I just tell you that a pre-lit tree is the way to go if you are going fake?  It was so convenient!  :)

I prefer a real Christmas tree and every year we put a real tree because il reminds me my childhood

I prefer a real christmas tree too. But as you we bought a fake one 8 years ago for the same reason as yours. And since then we use it every year. Our flat is quite small, so the tree is out now only for a few days and I don't feel bad about the short time of use. With a real one it would just be hard, lol!
Have a wonderful day!

I love the idea of a real one but our teenage children think it is unfair to trees to chop them down aso we always have an fake one.

I have a fake tree. I will never have a real one again. I got very sick of finding pine needles that had worked their way into my carpet months after Christmas was over. The trees never fit in the stand the way they should. They are impossible to keep watered, etc., etc.

I prefer the look of a real Christmas tree, but I'm allergic so I use an artificial one at home. Thanks.

I do like the look of a real tree and for many years we used them. It is a pain to vacuum up all the needles and it can be a fire hazard, so the last few years we've used an artificial one.

Lee said...

I prefer a real tree but have gone to an artificial due to allergies :( Thank you!! 10% off Flannel too - thanks!!!

We have a slim pre lit tree and love it....Bought it about 3 Christmas's back..Best investment ever...

Amy said...

We prefer real, but use fake because we want to leave the lights on all night. A fake one is less of a fire hazard.

SonjaM said...

I prefer a real tree but we can't afford one. So we use the everlasting fake tree and load it ornaments lights and garland:-). sonjasmith76@yahoo.com

Prefer a real tree....but have artificial because of carpets and the needles..lol. I know!!!!

I prefer a real tree but we use a fake tree now - it even drops needles. :(

I prefer real trees but we have a fake tree - so much easier to maintain.

Always a real tree - I love the smell!

I love real trees but we also invested in an artificial tree with lights, which is great and very real looking!

A Frazier Fur is my favorite Christmas Tree. The smell is awesome.

Heidi [Banks of Frog Creek] said...

Real for us! And I just look the other way when I see all the needles on the skirt and carpet ;)

Nancy L said...

Oh definitely a real tree. Love the smell!!

I prefer a real Christmas tree.

After almost freezing my toes off (slight exaggeration) quite a few years ago, we opted for a fake tree and it works perfectly for us!! Ours is tall and skinny and fits our small house better than any real tree. I also think of it as saving a tree that cleans the air and provides oxygen to us!!

I don't actually put up a Christmas Tree, but if I did I would prefer a real one. Have a wonderful day!

We have one of each in our home. I like the pre-lit one (that was my in laws) as long as the lights work!! I like that it can go up early and stay up long past Christmas Day, but I love the smell of the real tree. The needles are a force to be reckoned with.

I have a beautiful pre-lit tree that I love! I bought it at 75% off during an after Christmas sale. I would like to get a real tree now and then when my babies are old enough to remember. Until then, I love the convenience and savings my fake tree provides.

I normally prefer real christmas trees that can be planted after the holidays, however with the small space I currently have I found the perfect fake tree which is tall and skinny.

cjmont said...

i love real trees but not the mess they make. i use a fake tree and buy greenery so i can injjoy the aroma of the real.

Tiffany said...

I really love my prelit fake tree, but every year I find myself longing for a real tree. I keep telling myself it will happen when the kids get older...

Unknown said...

I actually love my fake prelit tree- I can manipulate the branches as I decorate it which is convenient and with a 9 month old baby I can't see us doing a real tree because of the choking hazard and water mess! What a sweet blanket! Thanks for the giveaway! cherisetoweratgmaildotcom

But I gave in and let my husband buy a fake one:(
Thank you for the receiving blanket tutorial, it's right on time as I have two to craft.

When the kids were home, we always bought a real tree. Now we have a pre-lit tree. I does miss the pine smell though.

Oh I definitely prefer a real tree, but for the reason you've noted, sometimes a "near real" tree is best!

Janie said...

Real. They smell awesome.

Vicki H said...

We have put up a fake tree for over 30 years. Ours is a pre-lit tree as well and that makes it so much more convenient.

I LOVE this fabric. I bought some and made a blanket and it has spoiled me for other flannel forever. I prefer a real tree, but I put up a fake one. I'm just not home enough to attend to it, and no longer strong enough to want to wrestle it into the stand. I have a cheapie pre-lit fake tree, and when it's completely dark except for the lights, it looks fine. The rest of the time, I politely look away. :)

I love a real tree, but not cleaning up after it. If I had the room, I would keep our artificial tree decorated and just slide it out for the holidays--lol!

pippirose said...

I definitely prefer a real one. You just can't get beat that real tree smell. :o)

Would looove a real tree!! We used to go cut one, when kids were small. Have huge fake tree now...but wnen Family Room is remodeled..this will stay in living room...and hope to have real one for family room!

We had real trees when the children were still home. Now we don't have a tree at all. -- soparkaveataoldotcom

I prefer a real tree but we have a fake tree...we have a kitty cat that would destroy a real one ;)

Deb said...

Fake all the way....cheaper...use it for years....can put it up earlier and leave it up longer (that's the main reason for me). We put our tree up at Thanksgiving....I'm afraid a real tree would really dry out.

Kelly Wilson said...

I prefer a fake tree. But not one that is trying to mimic a real tree. I love the silver or pink or blue, etc aluminum trees.

Sarah said...

I like the fake; that's the kind I grew up with. My husband likes the real; that's the kind he grew up with. :) We usually go with fake; the cheapness factor usually prevails. :) sarah@forrussia.org

juliehallfeldhaus said...

We haven't had a real tree in years. I do love the smell of the real tree tho:)

Kathy E. said...

If you can't grow it, fake it. Fake all the way. It's way too much work for a real tree and it just gets added to the land fill when taken down.

Jodi - usairdoll said...

Awesome giveaway! Who doesn't love a real tree? The smell? The feel? The pine needles you still find in February? hehe I love a real tree but I do have a fake one. Small kids and dogs is why we made that choice.

Thank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

As a kid we always cut our own Christmas tree. It was such a fun special day with family that I miss dearly. The smell and memories will stay with me forever!!!

Rochelle aka Bella Quilts said...

We've always had a real tree, even going out to cut them. But then we got older and the knees don't do the up and down as well to go out a get a real one and they cost so much. And I got brand new carpet and.....anyway we have a prelit fake and it is beautiful. We'll keep this up from now on.

I prefer a real tree because cutting a real tree with my Dad, setting it up while my two little sister's eyes glowed, the fragrant smell, just does not compare to an artificial tree, especially this first Christmas without my husband.

I love the smell of a real tree, but since I've gotten older and the kids aren't there to help me, I use an artificial tree. Patty
