Copper Boom! Mini Quilt

Copper Boom 1, by The Cozy Pumpkin
Hi there, everyone! I am Amanda, and I am thrilled to be a part of Fort Worth Fabric Studio's Mini Quilt Mania! I am a mom, quilter, and avid Gilmore Girls fan...hence the title of this little mini. This is a super fun pattern that plays with varying shades of solids which, in turn, creates an interesting multilayered design far beyond the basic block itself. Let's get started, shall we?
FWFSMiniQuiltMania_2A

Finished Mini Quilt Size: 18" x 18" Materials: I used the following Kona solids from FWFS:
1/4 yd. Kona Cotton Cypress (Light "Blue")
1/4 yd. Kona Cotton Bluegrass (Dark "Blue")
1/4 yd. Kona Cotton Cactus (Light Green)
1/4 yd. Kona Cotton Peapod (Dark Green)
1/4 yd. Kona Cotton White
1/8 yd. Kona Cotton Mango (Light Orange)
1/8 yd. Kona Cotton Kumquat (Dark Orange)

In addition to that you will need:
Batting measuring: 22" x 22"
Backing measuring: 26" x 26"
Binding: 1/4 yd. for 2 1/2" wide binding strips

The title of the blog post caught my attention (I heard "copper" then "boom"), and clicked to see very interesting quilting. I am new to quilting, and haven't ventured past straight line quilting. It's nice to see that with a little imagination straight line quilting can be interesting.

Thank you for the beautiful block pattern :-) I love Mini quilts so much! A few days ago I saw transparency blocks - yours is matching :-) I'm very delighted!

This mini quilt pattern with the color gradations is wonderful Amanda! I also love how your quilting became layered as lines crossed and how that echos the layered look of the colors. Thanks for the perfectly written tutorial too!

I really like how you have used the gradations and reinforced the design with the quilting. I may have to look into this mini quilt thing a bit more :)
