Friday Bundle Batch {Garden Bug}

Hi there! I hope you all enjoyed your week!  We have a fun bundle to share with you today!  Be sure to scroll down to see what I made using this week's Friday Bundle Batch!

Garden Bug

This week's bundle features ladybugs, small dots & blenders - with orange as the focal color!
You'll receive 1 Fat Quarter of each:
  1. Luv Bugs Orange Floral - Benartex/Kanvas
  2. Small Dots White/Orange - Riley Blake
  3. Just Color Red - Studio E
  4. Imagine Plus's Black - Windham
  5. Painter's Canvas Tangerine - Michael Miller
  6. Basically Low Typewriter Text Black - Red Rooster
  7. Basic Brights Red Gingham - Windham
  8. Swiss Dots Orange with White Dots - Riley Blake

I had so much fun with these fabrics!  I really love the focal print in the bundle - that's where I got my inspiration for this table topper.  This is a simple project - I just made a nine patch block and then added some corner triangles to make the block "on point" - that way I had some free space to add some cute appliquéd flowers!

I used the main flower in the orange print as my inspiration for the appliqué  - and created these cute daisy flowers and placed them in each corner.  I secured the appliqué on with some fun sketch stitching in black thread - I love this type of stitching because it is supposed to be imperfect and it really makes those flowers stand out!

For the quilting, I did some small meandering all around the background fabric and straight line quilting within the nine patch block.  I love to combine both types of quilting - it creates a really fun texture!

21" x 21"

Alright let's get started!

Supplies:

Cutting:

For Blocks:
4 - 4.5" x 4.5" squares (A)
10 - 2.5" x 2.5" squares (B)
12 - 2.5" x 2.5" squares (C)

From Red:
6 - 1 1/4" x 4.5" strips (D)
4 - 1 1/4" x 14" strips (E)
2 - 1 1/4" x 15.5" strips (F)

From background:
2 - 12" x 12" squares cut once diagonally (G)

Now you are ready to baste, quilt and bind with your preferred methods.  I pieced my backing with the remaining fabric from my bundle! So you can make this entire project with just the bundle and a little extra background fabric!

I hope you enjoy making this cute topper!

Talk to you soon!
