Isn't this bundle so fun and summery?! I had a lot of fun sewing with these lemonade prints!
I decided to make a simple table topper out of the bundle and I love how it turned out! This is a BIG block - but it is super simple to put together!
The great thing about this project is that you can make the entire project with a FQ bundle and a little extra white background fabric! The other awesome thing is that this can easily be made in an afternoon! I love quick projects!
Alright, let's get started!
Supplies:1 Homemade Lemonade Bundle
1/4 yard of white
Cutting:
From white:
8 - 2 7/8" squares cut in half diagonally (A)
4 - 2 1/2 x 4 1/2" rectangles (B)
From pink lemonade print:
4 - 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles (B)
1 - 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square (C)
3 - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares cut twice diagonally (E)
From green:
4 - 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" squares (D)
From yellow:
6 - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares cut twice diagonally (E)
From white lemonade print:
3 - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares cut twice diagonally (E)
4 - 4 1/4" x 4 1/2" squares (F)
- Start by sewing a pink b unit and white b unit together. Press. Make 4.
- Then make your square in a square units. Start by sewing two A triangles to opposite sides of your D square. Press. Then sew the two remaining sides on and press. Make 4.
- Assemble hourglass units. Sew a pink and yellow E triangle together and press. Sew a white and yellow E triangle and press. Then sew the two units together and press. Make 12.
- Sew three hourglass blocks together and press. Make two sets.
- Sew three hourglass blocks together and an F square on either side and press. Make two sets.
- Sew your hourglass rows to the top and bottom and press. Then add your other two strips to the left and right side and press.
- Add your pink border. First measure the width of your block and cut a strip that measure Width x 2 1/2" and sew a strip to the top and bottom.
- Measure the length and then cut a strip that measures the Length of block x 2 1/2" - sew a strip to each side. Press.
