Featuring the Love -n- Stitches Quilt Group of Springtown, TX!

This blog is the perfect place to highlight some of the different quilt groups & ladies who are making a difference! This feature is dedicated to the lovely ladies of the Love -n- Stitches Quilt Group of Springtown, TX. Connie O. heads up this group, and what a wonderful number of projects they have done! We'll highlight a few of them here.

See the stack of quilts above? These are some of the 39 quilts sent to Russia last year. One quilt was presented to a missionary family, and the rest were donated to an orphanage.

NINE of the quilt group ladies went to Bulgaria last year to teach quilting to a group of Bulgarian ladies who had never quilted before! Here is a photo of the Bulgarian ladies, proudly showing the blocks they had made:

Then....there are the stockings....do you see the endless table full of stockings below?! These generous ladies of Love-n-Stitches sent 160 filled stockings to military personnel in Afghanistan at Christmas time.

And what else have these busy ladies been up to? They sent 140 baby quilts and blankets to the victims in Galveston after Hurricane Ike....60 baby quilts to Grace House Ministries in Weatherford for their pregnancy center......1,000 pillows for cancer patients in Ft. Worth and Decatur (as well as scarves and knitted caps.....these are some TALENTED WOMEN!!).

Current projects? They are currently working on 75 lap quilts for the nursing homes in Azle, TX and Weatherford, TX.

A HUGE THANKS AND BIG HUGS to the ladies of the Love -n- Stitches Quilt Group......they ARE making a difference in their community & around the world!! In a time when we hear much troubling news, it warms my heart to hear these kinds of stories! Be sure to leave a comment after this post, thanking these ladies for their wonderful work!
