Easter Candy Table Runner {Free Pattern}

Hi there! I think I jinxed myself when I said I was ready for Spring the other day! We woke up to snow this morning!! I hope this is the last round of snow until next winter--but I am probably not that lucky.   :)

I have something fun to share with you all today! To dress up my table a little, and to get my home ready for Spring,  I made this bright and cheery spring runner with the Easter Candy bundle. To get you into the mood for Spring, I thought I'd share the pattern with you!

Finished size is approximately 11.5"  x  49"

This is such an easy pattern, and you could definitely make a quilt using this block, and it would be wonderful! The block itself is easy peasy to make, and you will have this runner made in no time! You wouldn't even have to use spring colors either, you could use this same pattern for different holidays! Your options are endless here!

So let's get started!

Fabric Requirements:

55" x 17" piece of Backing fabric
55" x 17" piece of Batting
1/4 yard of Binding fabric

Cutting:

10 squares cut 4" x 4"
5 pieces cut 4" x 8 1/2"
5 strips cut 1 1/2"  x 4"
5 strips cut 1 1/2" x 8 1/2"
6 strips cut 2" x 8.5"
2 strips cut 2" x width of your runner (For top and bottom border)

Directions:

Read all directions before starting.  All seam allowances are 1/4"

Your unfinished block size is 8.5"

***Be careful when you sew the sashing strips on to the right side of your blocks.  Make sure you lay your blocks out in the right order first and then sew your sashing strip onto the correct side! The blocks do not face all the same direction, so you will need to be careful!

Now you can baste, quilt, and bind--and you are done!

I am seriously considering making an entire quilt with this block.  It is such an easy pattern, and comes together really quickly!

If you make this runner or even this block, please let me know! I would love to see a picture! You can upload it to our flickr group or send me an email!
