Welcome To Spring Table Topper Tutorial

IMG_8428
Hi, Jamie from busybeequilts here with a tutorial for an 18.5” square table topper you can make in an afternoon.  If your weather is anything like mine, winter hasn’t loosened its grip yet.  But with this pretty pattern you’ll be ready to herald spring into your home!

Materials:

Directions:
Cut two 2.5” x WOF strips from FABRIC A and B.  Subcut into two pieces right at the fold line.   Sew together three pieces of fabric in order ABA and BAB.  You’ll have one extra piece of each fabric to add to your scrap bin.  Press seams toward FABRIC B.
FABRIC ABA
FABRIC BAB
Cut the slab ABA into eight 2.5” sections.  Cut the slab BAB into four 2.5” sections.

Make 4 blocks.
Cut three 2.5” x WOF strips from the Mochi linen fabric.  Subcut one of the strips into two 6.5” strips and one 14.5” strip.   Sew each row, pressing toward the linen, then add the 14.5” long sashing and press toward the linen.
measuresments small
From the remaining 2.5” x WOF strips, cut two 14.5” strips and two 18.5” strips.
measuresments large
Sew the 14.5” strips to the top and bottom, pressing seams toward the linen.  Then sew the 18.5” strips to the sides, pressing seams toward the linen.
Layer your topper with batting and backing.  I used Penny Rose Magpie in Cream for the back of my topper.

Quilt your topper.  I opted for a grid pattern.
