Fabric Frenzy Friday #98

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all had a great week! It's going to be a busy weekend here! I am hoping I can squeeze in some sewing time! ;)

I can't wait to share this week's bundle batch! I love the prints included in this darling bundle.  I was so excited to create a project with these beautiful prints! Be sure to scroll down to see what I made!

Farmer's Market Blooms

Included in each bundle:

  2. Daisy Flowers Red - Michael Miller
  3. Fab Friendzy White Floral - Henry Glass
  4. Quarter Dot Black - Michael Miller

  6. Fab Friendzy Black Checker Board - Henry Glass
  7. Vintage Market Red Text - Riley Blake
  8. Mini Confetti Dot Black - Dear Stella
Farmer's Market Blooms  - 10" squares

I decided to make some placemats with this bundle of fabrics.  I got my inspiration for the design of these placemats from the Checkerboard print from this bundle.  With that print in mind, I designed a block and then added some strips to either side to make it a placemat! These are quite easy to put together and they will definitely brighten up your table!

I had so much fun making these cute placemats! I hope you will too! Let's get started!

Supplies (for 2 placemats)

Cutting:

  • 4 - 3" x 3" squares (A)
  • 10 - 3" x 3" squares (B) *cut in half diagonally
  • 4 - 4" x 4" squares (C)
  • 2 - 4" x 11" rectangles (D)

Assembly:

Start with an (A) square and take two (B) triangles.  Sew a triangle onto the top and bottom of your square.  Your (B) triangles will over go over the sides of your (A) square.   Do not trim fabric that hangs over!  Press.
Now take two more (B) triangles and sew them on to the left and right sides.  Press, and trim your block to a 4" square.  Make 5 blocks.

Now  take your blocks and your (C) squares and lay them out in a 9-patch.  Sew them into rows of three and press. Then sew your rows together and press.  Block will be 11" x 11"

Now add your (D) strips to the left and right side.  Press.

Now you are ready to quilt and bind! :)

Now that we shared our fabric for the week, we want to see yours!

Here is your chance to link up anything to do with fabric! You can link up finished quilts, a work in progress, a new fabric you just bought, a project made with fabric, or maybe you just want to show off some of your stash.  Anything goes--as long as it has to do with fabric!

Love this bundle, went to check it out. Did miss it or do you not have a wish list available. I don't have the finances right now but would like to get it later. Thanks

Your placemats are beautiful!

Those fabrics are lovely. I especially like that they come from several different fabric lines. It's like getting a taste of six different ice creams! What's not to love about that?

Great idea adding the borders to a block for placemats. Black and white goes with anything, especially red. Lovely bundle!

@allthingzsewn - the bundle is still available, but is close to being sold out. The link above is working. :) If you can't seem to get there via the link, you can go to our website (www.fortworthfabricstudio.com) and search for "Farmer's Market Blooms" :) Once the bundle is sold out, it will no longer show up - but it's still there for now! :)
