Posy Pocket Tote Tutorial

Hi there! I have a really cute tote bag to share with you today! I haven't done a bag tutorial in a while, and thought it was time to share something new with you guys!  I wanted to make a new tote - but I wanted to kick up the storage a notch.  I tend to just throw everything in my bag and then I have a ton of stuff just swimming in the bottom of the bag.  Which is definitely super annoying! So to help with this dilemma, I designed the Posy Pocket Tote! This tote is made featuring "Posy Garden" by Carina Gardner for Riley Blake Designs:

This tote has plenty of pockets to keep all those smaller items you need to access easily! The bag has 2 zippered pockets (one in the front and one in the lining) and another two regular pockets in the lining! With four pockets, you will have plenty of places to store whatever you need in this cute tote bag!

This bag is really quite easy to put together - there are no pattern pieces you need to trace and cut out - you can quickly cut everything with a rotary cutter and ruler.  Which is definitely a plus - I don't love cutting out pattern pieces! ;) If you are scared of zippers - please don't let this frighten you! Once you sew a zipper into a bag - you will be hooked and wonder why you haven't tried it before!

Dimensions: Bottom is 10 1/2" Height is 12 1/2" and from bottom to handles is 26"

Toddler Purse Tutorial

Hi there!  I am so excited to be apart of the Strawberry Biscuit Blog Hop!  I had so much fun creating with this playful fabric!  I am such a fan of Elea's work, she never disappoints! This collection has such a lovely appeal and is a delight to work with!

For my project, I decided to make a fun purse for my little girl!  She is the ultimate "girly" girl and loves bags! She's a girl after my own heart! ;)
Skirt made with this cheater print!

I decided on a simple tote style bag with cute ric-rac trim!  I added some fun little stuffed strawberries for some extra cuteness.   I love making tote style bags.  They sew up quickly, and there are no pattern pieces to trace and cut out.  So that makes this bag come together even more quickly!

DIY Bag with Zipper Pocket {Free Pattern}

Hi there! You know when you see a fabric, and you immediately know what you want to make with it?  Well that happened to me when I saw this lovely print from Katarina Roccella's newest line Skopelos.  It combines two of my favorite things: stripes and flowers.  So naturally, I knew I had to make a bag out of it! :)

This is an easy bag with a simple zip pocket in the front! Don't shy away from it because it has a zipper!  Putting the zipper in this bag is way easier than it looks, and you will love the finished result! And you will wonder why you haven't tried putting a zipper in a bag before, because it is so simple!

The other fantastic part about this bag is that there are not pattern pieces to cut out and pin to your fabric! Everything is cut out as squares and rectangles...so that alone saves you so much time! I whipped this up in about two hours, which is pretty fast for bag making!

The bag is fully lined, with the loveliest fabric! I love the modern vibes and colors of this line of fabric, and I couldn't be happier with how they play so well with each other in this bag!

I am definitely going to make a few of these bags! They would be great for gifts too! :)

Talk to you soon,

Milk Cow Kitchen Tote

Hi there!  I want to thank you all for your kind comments about the apron I shared yesterday! Today I am going to show you another project featuring the Milk Cow Kitchen fabric.  When I saw this patchwork fabric, I knew I had to make it into a tote.  I have always wanted to make a patchwork tote, but I didn't really want to actually do the patchwork!  So this lovely print, has done all the work for me!

This bag is a great market tote! Perfect to take to your local farmers market and place all your purchases in this roomy tote!

This is as simple as it gets when sewing a basic tote.  It comes together quickly, and is perfect for a beginner!  I decided to dress my tote up a tad, I added a fun little gathered pocket.  I thought this pocket would be perfect to place your keys, or phone so you don't have to go digging for it in the huge interior!  If you don't want to add the pocket, it would be just as lovely, and it will come together even faster!

So what do ya say, let's make this tote!

6-Pocket Tote Tutorial

Hi there! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

We've had a bit of a quiet week so far on the blog, but that's because I've been getting this lovely tote pattern and kit ready for you guys!

I am super excited about this tote.  I love bags, and I have a bag for pretty much everything.  I have my purse, I have a church bag, I have a bag for my crocheting, I have a bag for my embroidery, a swimming bag,  a makeup bag, and the list goes on and on! I don't think a girl can have too many bags!

When I was thinking about this pattern, I wanted to make a really functional bag.  I wanted something that had plenty of pockets in the front for easy access. I also wanted it to be a good sized, not too big, but large enough that I could fit plenty of things in!

So here it is, my Six Pocket Tote:

I am pretty smitten with how it turned out.  It is so girly, with the paris fabrics and the pink polka dots! I love the functionality of it and love the size.  It is perfect to fit my three-ring binder in and also my planner.  And with all the pocket space, I can put my keys, phone, and any other small things I need to have access to easily!

The handles are a nice size, but you can definitely adjust these to make them shorter if you prefer shorter handles.  I prefer my handles a bit longer so that it fits comfortably over my shoulder.

The lining in this bag is absolutely one of my favorite script fabrics! It really compliments the exterior fabrics.

Alright let's get started!
