Minimum 20 hours a week. It just. Makes me relaxed and happy.

Cynthia Brunz Designs said...

I pretty much sew every day. If I am not at my sewing machine, I am cutting and organizing fabrics for the next day. My guess is I spend about 10-15 hours a week.

Cindy said...

I sew, probably, 30 hours a week, more when things have to get done. The joys of being unemployed. LOL

Tracy said...

If I'm lucky 15-20 he's a wk. I try to sew every day!

Some weeks very little and then other weeks I may spend 8 hours a day, 4 or 5 days in a row. I would guess it averages out to be about 20 hours a week. I love to sew (quilt) but retirement is busier than I thought it was going to be!

Laurel said...

I probably spend 10 - 15 hours a week including cutting and sewing. It is hard to let a day go by without a bit of sewing :)

Sandra said...

Would have to say 30+ hours a week if you include handsewing.

Lovely fabric, though :)

I would guess about 5 hours a week of actual sewing and close to that reading about sewing lol

Pat said...

I would say close to 30, as I am retired also.

Lorna McMahon said...

I don't keep track but would guess it works out to about 35 hours a week. Maybe I should start keeping a record!

GranChris said...

I'm retired so at least 40 hours probably more in the winter but less when the weather is nice and I can be in the garden.

Anita said...

If you ask my husband, he would say I spend way to much time sewing.
I am working full time, but I try to sew an hour or two every night, and then some more in the weekend. If I should count, I guess it would be 15 - 20 hours a week.

Just starting to dust off my sewing skills so about 8 hours on weekend with daughter.

I reckon I sew about 3 - 5 hours per week - sometimes more if I have a good stretch on a weekend.

Heidi [Banks of Frog Creek] said...

I sew during naps and after my daughter goes to bed and sometimes when she's playing in the same room... But it definitely varies every day/week/month! I'll guess that I sew between 1-10 hours a week :)

Jennie said...

At the moment well over 20hrs per week as I'm on maternity leave and baby hasn't arrived yet - no work + no baby = lots of time to sew. I imagine this will change.....

I sew about 6 hours a week depending on what the weather is like. I spend a lot of time working in my garden and also work full time; not enough hours in the day!

Most weeks I get in about 35 hours of sewing. More if my husband is away on business. I don't really notice the passage of time when I'm sewing because I'm engrossed in and enjoying what I'm doing.

It depends on the week and season. But I try to sew between 5-20 hours in a week. More if the hubby is engrossed in his hobbies or chores. mgreen2427@live.com

I sew on the weekends (Friday-Sunday) & usually get in about 10 hours total. Thanks for the giveaway.

Since I am employed full time, I don't get as much sewing time as I would like. I usually sew all day on Saturday and Sunday, so probably a total of about 16 hours a week. Thanks for the chance to win that beautiful layer cake.

Well, it's never enough, but anywhere from 10-20 hours a week, depending on what else is going on.

Probably about 15.

usagypsy said...

Oh boy, that can really vary. I would say maybe 10 hours a week. And that would include hand pieced projects. And then some weeks go by and I do no sewing.

I need to spend more time sewing! Depending if I have a project or not, it may vary. If I am sewing a garment, then I would usually spend how many hours it is to finish it. I like to finish my garment in a week. If I don't then usually I have small projects that takes about 1-2 hours per week.

You made me actually think about this. I haven't ever taken time to think about the actual hours I spend sewing. Of course, it varies. But I am at my machine at least 15 hours a week which is every day for a couple hours. Many days I spend 4 to 6 hours. Life's great when you're retired. So I don't have to keep track of the hours I spend doing anything, like visiting sewing blogs...

I try to sew at least three hours each and that is usually on Saturday. I work full-time and on weeks when I don't have a lot of deadlines (and don't have to extend my work week by working at home at night) I get some nights after work. On those weeks I can sometimes get in 10-12 hours. Besides being a hobby, sewing is very relaxing to me, so I try to sneak in every moment I can.
