I organize by color... my stash is pretty small so easy to do it this way

I try to organize by color and seasonal. I have limited space so its not always easy.
Pinned on my pinterest.
I organize my stash by color, but have seasonal together in another spot.
I'm like you... Organize by color except for collections and seasonal. Also my scraps are cut into useable sizes prior to restocking :)
I try to organize my stash by color.
Blue and green is my favorite color combination, gorgeous bundle!
Thanks for the giveaway.
Mostly by colour, Bali/batik in another section and specific project fabric bundled and on seperate shelving unit.
Like you by color, unless it is a bundle. Also by types, flannel, minky, ect.

I have just started my stash so it's definitely not organized ;) But I only have about 10 fabric quarters anyway, so it's not a big deal. I just put it in a plastic bag right now. I think when my stash is starting to grow bigger, I would like to put it in clear boxes, arranged by color!
By collection if there is a large piece for scraps by color.
I sort my stash by color into see-through storage boxes. I keep thinking I should also sort by size, but I haven't done that. I should also break them down into more specific sets. The blues go from navy all the way down to baby blue in one box. I need a new system. Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful fabric.
I have it all folded neatly and separated by size of the cut, 1/4 yard, 1/2 yard etc. I tried a secondary sort within those categories, by color, but it is not completed yet.
I mostly organize by color. But I also have some collections grouped together, and pre-cuts are scattered here and there, and large backing pieces are all in one stack, and on and on. Sadly, I'm a bit disorganized.
I organize by color, but I also have separate bins for batiks, children's fabrics & backing fabrics. Thanks.
I try to organize my fabric by type then color. Have the cottons done but need a few more drawers to do my batiks which are all sitting in a box.
syvisser@gmail(dot)com
My stash is organized in a very uniquely "me" way. Part of it is classically organized (one drawer of smaller than FQ sized pieces, one drawer of FQ sized, one of larger than FQ). It's kind of organized within each drawer but not really.
Then there is all the other fabric strew around the room. Oh, it's contained in boxes and piles but it's not classically organized. It's organized by where it came from. That box is the 12 lb fabric remnant box I bought (and just want to keep all that fabric together). That other box is another remnant lot from a different place. That pile is all FQs from a "blenders" swap. That pile is from a FQ novelty swap.
So, it's organized but I'd have to be there with you so you could figure it out.
I want to just mix it all together and organize by size and color within size, but I'm lazy and the room is cold so. . .yeah, that will happen someday.
My stash is organized by fabric type, then by color. Thanks.
Mine is organized by color, but I keep all my solids separately in their own section.
Organize? What's that?
I do try but go hopelessly off the rails every now and then.
Mostly by color
I organize by color-just wish I would learn to put it all back right away, LOL This bundle is absolutely gorgeous and my colors!!
I am not to organized with my fabrics. I have some in clear plastic boxes by types, and then I have some drawers and shelves that hold an unorganized mess.
I organize by collection then by size
I have a small stash, organized be color and some by collection bundles :-)

By color. These blues would be welcome. Thanks!
I organize by collection then by size.
I honestly don't have much a stash at this point to organize! I have plastic bins to keep the fabrics for specific projects that I'm currently working on. Everything else isn't really organized yet though. My husband is going to help me build a good shelving unit so hopefully that will help my stash organization.

Right now, I have my fabric in clear Ikea containers…not exactly ideal. But I am moving my sewing room to my basement this summer and hopefully I can reorganize everything then.
I organize my fabric by color. Thanks for the great giveaway. Green is my favorite color and the blue goes so well with it.
I organize by Projects first, then collections, then color and then scrap size. I just had to add new shelving in my new studio.

I have such a hard time with this task because it never seems "right". I tend to go by colors, but keep my stripes, dots and batiks seperate.
I organize by collections, then place those into color sections on shelving units. I will post on FB.

I try to organize but doesn't seem to work. When I do its by color or collection.
I tend to buy my fabric in kits so I keep them together in plastic bags.
Well, I try to organize by color. It works for the most part, and when things get out of control, I occasionally need to take time to reorganize and get the fabric back to their rightful places. Love the fabric in the giveaway. Makes me think of being by the water in a warm place. Thanks for a chance.
I organize by fabric lines... FQ bundles all together, solids all together, etc
FQs in baskets, or on a shelf if it's a collection. Fabric collections (like a Jelly roll and coordinating yardage) in a project bag. Yardage is sorted by holiday, novelty, batik, homespun, and prints. Prints are further sorted by color, and all yardage is folded around a 6" ruler, then folded in half and placed on a shelf.
Organized...hmm. I don't tend to "collect" fabrics. I buy what I want for specific projects. And I do tend to buy more than needed. So most of my stash is leftovers. Usual enough to make the same project again. I need to work on that. What I have is organized in clear bins, grouped in the same combination as the project. All are cotton, so no issue there. Scraps are what I need to organize most. I see a crazy quilt in my future! Thanks for the chance to win! I've pinned in Pinterest and shared on FB. Thanks again
melbahayes@yahoo.com
Mainly I organize by color, fabric type and if they are specific like holidays, polka dots, gingham. I even have a multi color pile where I stack the fabric that has so many colors I can't pick out the dominant one. Thanks.
I organize in clear Rubbermaid bins, by color, stacked in old fabric bolt shelving. It is easy to see and keeps out the dust.
I shared on Facebook.
I pinned it.
By color
I take a deep breath and put all the prints into color order, folded in stacked crates. I do have a few sub categories, like low volume and feedsack, as well as solids, white solids, and painted linen, and Liberty of London. Sometimes I will separate right away into projects. I find this sorting helps me avoid petting the fabric instead of sewing with it!

Simple Sew shared with me, I don't really have enough to organize it is kind of just in 1 drawer, in the order I have bought it in, lol.
My stash is mostly organized by color. Fat Quarters and half yards go in drawers, scraps smaller than 1/8 yard go in different drawers, and yardage goes in a big tub. Thanks for sharing!
I keep everything in plastic storage containers that are labeled so I know what's in each one. I sort by collection, seasonal and washed. Thanks for the sweet giveaway :)
BEAUTIFUL FABRICS!
My fabric yardage is in stacks and by using any two glossy magazines slid under+above the piece you want, you can easily remove or replace a piece.
Thanks for a neat giveaway!

Right now I am in a temporary rental so all of my stash is packed up in boxes, but after I move I plan to organize by color then size.
missysaprons@gmail.com
My stash is small, so there's really no organization!!
I like to keep collections together, I cut my scraps into squares of varying sizes, but other than that there's no real organizing going on!
Love the stripes in that fabric bundle. :)
I organize by: quilt shop fabric vs. Joanns; Christmas fabric vs neutrals, and then most of the scraps from leftover projects all stay together. All bundled fabric like layer cakes and jelly rolls is separate. All of it in clear plastic containers, clear as mud?
Thanks for the chance to win! I love blue and green together!

I store my fabrics mainly by color and wrapped on comic book boards. I keep collections separate.
i put fat quarters on a book case and large yards in a tote
I try to organize by fabric line and/or color :) Thanks for the chance to win!
I do all my 1/2 yard and larger by color and have another area to store my fat quarters by color. Thanks
I have a container for each kind of cut and each projects.......;o)

My small stash is more or less sorted by color, unless I happen to by a FQ bundle, which stays together. Thanks for the great giveaway. I love the colors!
I keep fabric in clear plastic bins/totes - 1) yardage [2.5yds+] 2) solid colors 3) bundles of collections, sometimes grouped by designer 4) cuts 2yds and less by main color 5) precut jellies, skinny qtrs, charm packs 6) scraps < fat qtr in a bin 7) tiny scraps and scraps for stuffing fluffiness into pillows each in their own huge mason jars [pretty visually] that I leave out as eye candy. The bins can be moved easily and until I get a permanent sewing room with a great shelf system this works.
Mine is all under my bed in those plastic roller boxes - one for random pieces, one for complete collections and one housing fabrics for projects started or planned.
I organize mine by scrap size. I keep bundles together but random pieces are kept by fat quarters, strips, medium sized pieces and small pieces.
I have my FQs stored separately sorted by color and the cottons separated from the batiks. I have yardage wrapped around archival comic book boards and separated by color and the batiks again separate from cottons. I have bins for Japanese, for Southwestern, for African, and keep collections together for special projects.
Right now this is my nightmare. I had my stash organized by collection and then decided to do it by color instead.
his may be the biggest mistake I ever made I am half way between here and there with piles of fabric everywhere and for the last few weeks have just looked at the mess and shook my head and walked away.
My stash is mostly organized by color, but I have separate stacks of batiks, kid's prints, woven stripes & plaids, 30's, and flannels.
The blue & green prints in the giveaway are gorgeous! I love the color combination.
I organize my fabric in baskets according to color.
kdavis1@centurytel.net
I organize my stash in plastic totes by color or season. I also have small totes full of future projects.
The fabric is gorgeous! Thanks for the giveaway!
k.castanette@hotmail.com
I organize my fabric by categories: Civil war, 30's and 40's, Novelty prints, etc. Also have strips organized by size.
This bundle would be perfect for the quilt I am working on for our bed! My stash needs to be better organized. I got some of the larger cuts folded on comic book backings before I ran out and have the others sorted by color in 2 baskets. The rest is in a stack on my cutting table waiting for me to order more backings. My scraps are sorted by color in large ziplock bags.
My stash is rather small right now, so it all fits in one tote bag. I think If I had more I would organize by color, since I tend to mix collections together to get the effect I want.
I don't have much of a stash, I mostly only buy fabric for projects I'm about to make. I keep it organised this way too.
I have a cabinet with my specialty fabric, bins for projects, smaller bins for scraps and divided into 3 sizes. I also use a tray bin of what I am currently working on.
For the most part, I organize by color, but if I have a line I want to use for a particular project, I keep those together in a different bin. Thanks for the giveaway. Love these colors!

I organize my scrap stash by color, but my regular stash doesn't really have any rhyme or reason. I usually by collections of fabric (whether they were already a collection, or I matched them together), so I keep them sorted by collection/project. I don't have a big enough stash to "shop" my stash. But it's getting there!
I organize by season/holiday and cut of fabric...i.e. FQ, charms, layer cakes etc. I don't have a real big stash so its pretty easy to find something I need for a project or to start a new project. Kathy (kerick369@aol.com)
I organize my fabric by color...even the scraps:)
Of course each project has all teh fabrics with it for one day:)
I organize my fabrics first by quilt pattern, if I already have a pattern planned. Then I organize by cut and color. Fat quarters together by color, charm squares by color, jelly rolls by color, etc. Except for scraps which are all thrown together.
I organise by colour!
My fabric stash is organized by theme/color and also by yardage size.

Rubbermaid totes but I want to use some shelves so I can see them all pretty on display.

Yardage and scarps by color with fat qtrs on their own in bundles or loose if they don't currently coordinate w/something else. All behind closed cabinet doors.
Nice giveaway!! I usually sort by fabric collection. Any that don't have an entire bundle, I sort by color.
I organize my fabric by collection and by colour. Love the blues and greens in this collection - gorgeous!!!

I pinned it to my Quilt & Sew board.
I confess - I don't organize it. I store it in clear plastic totes and I go through every tote when I'm pulling fabrics for a quilt. All that reviewing, though, does mean that I generally know where everything is! :)
I mostly group it by project. If I bought pieces to go together for a certain project. Also I group pieces by holiday. I have one closet just for Christmas.
i have good intentions of organizing my fabric but i am soon dreaming of another project and pulling fabric from every corner of my home.
I shared on Facebook! Thanks again. https://www.facebook.com/pk.solberg.1/posts/208269369379552?stream_ref=10
I don't have a craft room or space to organize my material. Right now my sorting is by fabric types first. I have flannels in on bag..cotton in one, etc...then I also have cotton Christmasy in a bag...patriotic in a bag etc....

I organize by color. I have fat quarters and larger cuts folded on shelves. For smaller bits, I jeep them in shoe box type bins and then any other scraps thrown together in a jumble in the bottom of my closet!
I organize by color or collection. Thanks for the chance!
sdjg(at)pacbell(dot)net
I organize by collections, such as 30's , batiks, etc. But the others I organize by colors, I have just put up shelves and am folding onto coardboard. and I use baskets with front handles from the plastic dept. for fq's by colors
Um....I used to have it organized by size (2+ yds, 1 yd, FQs, scraps.....) BUT it is now a mess. I do have some projects and UFOs in plastic, stackable containers. One of my goals is to re-organize and give my stash a make-over.
Umm organize? I dream of it by color, selection and project. Alas it's just a dream!
Linynp2@yahoo.com
I really don't organize my fabric any special way.. but I do keep all of my scraps together in one place. New Year's resolution is to get organized. I'm still working on it!
In the beginning I tried organizing by color. I kind of do it now but found I organize by groups, especially holidays, batiks, polka dots etc. I even have some organized by projects :-) I do like this fq bundle - very pretty colors.
I shared it on Facebook
I organized all my fabric by colors.
Mostly by colour, also batiks have a drawer (or 2), childrens' fabrics together for charity quilts, separate containers for planned projects and scraps in one large container.

I would love to win this great combo Thanks Debbie Kelly
I try to organize by color or project. Scraps are cut into strips or squares and stored by size.
I organize by color generally. If I have specific fabric for a project, I keep it together. I also keep all of my batiks together. Beautiful fabric!
I organize by color and use pre-cut comic book cardboard to wrap the fabric & keep things tidy. A spare dresser holds FQS, bulk material, and project kits. Scraps are stored by color in a plastic drawer organizer but I am slowing cutting them into uniformed squares & strips for future scrappy projects.
Posted your lovely giveaway on my Pinterest /Sewing Blogs , thanks FWFS!

I'm not very organized. Right now it's kind of part by project and part hodge podge. I've been thinking I need to do it by color.
up until last week, the answer would have been "in a big heap shoved into cubbies", but I'm currently organising! I have a 4 drawer plastic bin for my FQs, I'm ironing them, folding them all the same and sorting them by colour - neutrals in one drawer, blues/purples, reds/pinks and green/yellow. Next up is my scraps and finally my yardage. how will I sort them? I don't know!!
My fabrics are by color, then by large or small prints, then by theme. My scraps are separated in bins the same color as the scraps.
In my dreams I am organised, but in reality my scraps are all organised by colour, but everything else is either stacked on a shelf in the cupboard or in a large see-through plastic box on wheels! One of these days I will take some time away from sewing and blogging and actually get round to sorting the box out :)
I get leftover fabric bolts and cut them to fit my bookcase and I wind yardage on that. I then organize that by color or holiday. My fay quarters are organized on old cd towers, again by color and holiday. Project bundles go on a different shelving unit with my smaller fabric cuts.

I organize all of my blenders by color, with the focus prints at the bottom of each pile. Then I keep certain fabrics sorted by "theme:" Kaffe Fassett prints, 1930's prints, Asian prints, batiks, and African prints.
I organize... then make a quilt and destroy all my organization. So it is an ongoing process.
I haven't quilted in 20 years so do not have a stash but it will be with rubber maid containers and by color.
I am also new to blogs so not sure how this works. Here is my email because I am going anonymous.

These fabrics are just gorgeous - my favorite colors! I shared on FB.
I'm not very organized by most standards, but I do keep my stash in clear bins with batting, interfacing & white flannel in it's own bins. The rest is pretty much free for all with most recent purchases! Thanks for the chance to win - blues & greens like the Seahawks colors - it's a "sign", "Go Hawks!"
Wellll, my stash is not that big yet, but I just organize according to type of precut, and single fat quarters go into mandarin orange boxes according to color. Vintage sheets go into a big plastic tote. Yardage just is in stacks on shelves. Thanks!
I Pinned the giveaway here: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/282249101620793970/
I mostly organize by color unless it is a collection and then I keep it in an armoire in my sewing room.
I have cut up pieces in boxes by size, FQ together and yardage of fabric lines together
I organize by Collection too -- seems alot of folks do that. This is especially true on larger pieces. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I organize by size then color. Once you have a system that is set up, it is pretty easy to keep things put away.
I mostly sort by color. My scraps are all sorted by color. I have yardage and neutrals in bins.
I organize my fabric by color in clear dvd storage bins - that way I can see them even when they are closed and put away!
I am trying to organize my fabric stash. I have just begun putting the fabric in large plastic bags arranged by colors. I have a long way to go until I've made a dent in my stash.

I organize by color. All in neat little bins! But my favorites are by collections!
I have to keep my fabric stash in containers. Not very well organized. Small space. do have great container of western horse fabric
Mostly I organize by type/theme or by the person I think for whom they would make a good project.
I would like to organize by color, but as of now...I just have it in a china cabinet where I can see it all. Mostly in groups of how I bought it. Some extra bins and boxes strayed all over the place too:)

Sharing on Pinterest too! Oh, I did recently start organizing my scraps! Cut them all into precut sizes so they are ready to go when I am.
I sort by color.
I organize by color with the stash on my shelves, but if it's a collection I store together (labeled with contents enclosed) in acid-free photo boxes. I also have pressed, cut and organized my scraps in much the same way.
I organize yardage and larger pieces on pieces of foam core. Pre-cuts and pieces 1/2 yard and less in baskets on a shelf. Thanks for the chance to win.
I organize by project, seasonal, design and precuts. Thanks for the giveaway!
I organize in two ways. If I have everything for a project I put it all in a plastic bag, with the pattern. My leftover fabrics and ones I've bought not for something specific are sorted by color (to some degree).
My stash is in plastic rectangle baskets (woven), generally sorted by colors. Colors are viewed as read as sold so they are sorted that way. Solids, florals, plaids, stripes, polka dots and novelty are separate. . I do use a lot of specific categories and that's why I do those separately rather than by color. You need to organize according to YOUR specific usage. One way isn't the right way. It needs to work for you to make fabric hunting easier.
I organize my fabrics by color in clear plastic boxes . Small pieces are in a big plastic container. This system works well for me
I organize my stash by colors. FQ are separate though since they're smaller. Scraps are thrown in a basket until full then organized by colors as well :)
I organize my stash in clear bins, stacked in a closet.... I don't have alot of "Collections"..so pretty much sort by Floral, Novelties, Kids, etc...and each category is divide by color, Isn't at all as organized as this sounds as I reread! lol lol But I can see where things are...
Also Pinned your Give-a-Way! :)

Not sure that my stash IS organized. I usually buy with intent so the pieces go together in a bag with pattern ideas. IF I don't get to them right away then I might sort out into piles based on color but I don't usually because it is so fun to dig through it all when I am looking for something. I will say fabric lines usually stay together until there is not much left and then they go in the scrap pile. Okay I will just say it is not very organized.
It is not very well organized at the moment, just piles here and there..

As a very new quilter, I don't really have a stash yet. What fabric I do have is haphazardly in bins under my bed.

I don't have a stash yet. I have been looking at a lot of quilting blogs trying to decide on which design to make for my first quilt. I like the clear boxes that are like small suitcases. I would go with those if I get a stash.
I organize by color as much as possible and I have a winter/Christmas stash.
I have a stash of backing fabrics, fabrics for upcoming projects and then scraps organised by colour, there might be a few random piles hidden away too!
Sadly I have no organization of my stash. Lately what me and my wife have been doing is bagging together materials that we want to do as a quilt along with either a pattern or notes as to what to make out of them. My stash is not yet big enough to do by colors or any thing fun like that. I do really love the colors of this bundle and I have a quilt in mind for it if I win.
I shared this link on pintrest.
I mainly organize by colour, but have Christmas and novelties separated out
I don't have a very large stash, but I organize my fabrics by project
I use clear shoe boxes labeled with the color name. My stash is not huge, but one of the boxes won't close! Karen (kb4847@sbcglobal.net)
I organize by type and then color. I have regular cotton, Asian and batik in different areas. I was lucky enough to be given ceiling to floor display cases which I have in my sewing room.
I mostly organize by color in little Sterlite bins, but do keep collections together when they first arrive. Once I cut into them I sometimes separate by color unless I still have quit a bit left. I eventually want some glass front cabinets for storage, be still my heart!! :)
I organize by colour unless its a fabric bundle, these I will keep together.
I shared the giveaway on Pinterest. Thanks so much (Lynne Jaynes Tilley on Pinterest)
Beautiful fabric...love the blues and greens!! As a new quilter I don't have much of a stash yet. I have a container just for pre-cuts and the rest is organized by solids and collections.
color organization for me:)
My stash has it's own closet and I organize by color...except for a few "collections" that I keep together.
I keep fat quarter bundles in one container, charm bundles in one container, mini charm bundles in one container, miscellaneous fat quarters in one container, miscellaneous charms in one container, plaids in one container, flannels in one container, yardage in one container and scraps by size.
