This week's block is:

LeMoyne Star:

You will make one of these blocks - the final block measurement with border is 13.5" x 13.5"

A little tip for this block - be sure to trim your half square triangle units to 3" x 3"  --- I know how annoying it is to trim those little stinkers,  but it is well worth it!  Your block will go together so much more smoothly if you do! :)

Friday Bundle Batch {Remember the Ghoul Times}

Hi there! I hope you all had a good week! I am REALLY EXCITED about this week's Friday Bundle Batch, for a couple of reasons:

1. I love Halloween fabric - I think even more than Christmas fabric! *gasp* ;)
2. I hand picked this bundle while I was out visiting the shop a few months back - and have been patiently waiting to show my bundle off!  ;)

Remember The Ghoul Times

This week's bundle is all about Halloween!   Lindsey Weight hand-selected all the prints in this cute bundle!
You'll receive 1 Fat Quarter of each:
  1. Fangtastic Black/Orange Pumpkins - Henry Glass
  2. Essentials Criss Cross Orange - Wilmington
  3. Swiss Dots Tonal Black on Black - Riley Blake
  4. Candelabra Starry Night Orange - Free Spirit
  5. Marble Swirls Jet - Moda
  6. Grunge Basics Pumpkin - Moda
  7. Fright Night Black Spider Webs With Metallic - Henry Glass

I had sooo much fun picking out this bundle - and even more fun coming up with a quilt pattern for these fun Halloween fabrics!

"Remember The Ghoul Times Mini Quilt"

This is a simple little quilt made from two different blocks and some sashing.  You could easily make this into a bigger quilt - by just adding more blocks! I think a full sized quilt would look absolutely fabulous!

I used the focal print for the pumpkins and I just love how these cute little pumpkins turned out! :)

For quilting, I did some stars to mimic the black and white star print - and added some loopy loops! The white thread really stands out against the black border - which I think is pretty cute for this quilt!

Let's get started!

To make this runner you will need:

Supplies: (CLICK ON LINKS)

1 yard of backing or piece your backing with leftover scraps.

Cutting:

Set aside orange star print for binding.

From Pumpkin Print:
  • 5 - 6.5" x 5.5" rectangles (A)

From Black prints
  • 16 - 2 5/8" squares (B) (Assorted blacks)
  • 5 - 1 1/2" squares (C) (Assorted blacks)
  • 2 - 2 1/4" x 22 1/2" strips (J) These will need to be pieced.  (black on black dot)
  • 2 - 2 1/4" x 26" strips (K) These will need to be pieced. (black on black dot)
From Assorted Oranges:
  • 4 - 2 5/8" squares (B)
From background:
  • 32 - 2 5/8" squares (B)
  • 20 - 1 1/2" squares (D)
  • 10 - 1 1/2" x 3" strips (F)
  • 6 - 1 1/2" x 6.5" strips (G)
  • 4 - 1 1/2" x 20.5" strips (H)
  • 2 - 1 1/2" x 22.5" strips (I)

Now you are ready to baste, quilt and bind with your preferred methods!

I hope you enjoyed this fun pattern and tutorial!  If you are looking for more free patterns and tutorials be sure to visit: FaveQuilts

Halloween Mystery Quilt {Week 1}

Hi there! You guys, I have been SOOO excited for this day to come!  We have had such an awesome response to this Quilt Along --- and I feel super grateful you guys are joining me on this fun little sewing adventure for the next month!  Let's get started!

A few things before we begin:

  • Please read ALL instructions before starting.
  • Please measure twice and cut once - I have made the cutting instructions very specific  - and there IS NOT a lot of room for cutting errors - so PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
  • I am posting the blocks for the quilt in no particular order - to keep this EXTRA MYSTERIOUS!
  • Accuracy is KEY!  This quilt requires you to be very accurate with your piecing - A 1/4" quilting foot is recommended for piecing.
  • I have made the entire quilt already (and it is sooo cute!!) - and so all blocks and piecing have been tested.
  • This is all about having fun!! This was a joy to design and it was even more fun piecing this quilt! I can't wait for the final reveal!
Alright, I think you guys are ready to get started!

First, I have included a cutting sheet.  This sheet is cutting for the ENTIRE QUILT.  It is very helpful if you mark all your pieces with the letters I have assigned each piece.  Please measure twice and cut once! There is nothing worse than making a cutting mistake! So pay careful attention please!

Today she is sharing this sweet table runner she made using a pattern from Sew This and That by Sherri Falls

Friday Bundle Batch {Plum Pudding}

Hi there! Happy Friday! I hope you all had a good week! We have a very pretty bundle to share with you today! Be sure to scroll down to see what I made using today's Friday Bundle Batch:

Plum Pudding

This weeks bundle features the colors of plum & gray - we love this color combo!
You'll receive 1 Fat Quarter of each:
  1. Mix & Match Jessica Floral in Wineberry - Benartex/Contempo
  2. Candelabra Hallow's Dot Cloud - Free Spirit
  3. Pacific Fireflies Berry - Robert Kaufman
  4. Bee Inspired Little Honeycomb Dove Grey - Moda
  5. Mix & Match Jessica Floral in Petal Pink - Benartex/Contempo
  6. Cool Cats Fuchsia Stripes - Windham
  7. Swiss Dots Raspberry - Riley Blake
  8. Marble Swirls Grey - Moda

I am LOVING this bundle - Purple and Gray are so lovely together! I had so much fun sewing with these pretty fabrics!

When I got this bundle - I immediately thought I needed to make some zipper pouches.  These fabrics are so pretty, I thought some lace zippers with this fabric would be gorgeous!

To make a set of three pouches you will need:  (CLICK ON LINKS)

***There is a size chart in the tutorial - the largest zipper pouch calls for a piece that is 23" long - your fat quarter will be about 2" short - so make your large pouch size 11" x 21"  - this will make your large pouch a tiny bit smaller - but I think it will work out just fine! ***

Here is the large pouch - I used the darker purple as the outside and the gray polkadot for the inside.  I used a white zipper for this one - but you could also use black, or even maybe a green would look pretty for some contrast!

For the medium sized pouch I use the gray butterfly print and paired it with the stripe.  I used a black zipper for this one and I LOVE the contrast! It's so pretty!

And lastly, for the small pouch I used the light purple floral print and the gray swirl for the inside.  I used a white zipper for this one.

I had so much fun making these pouches!  I hope you enjoy making some of your own!! :)

Talk to you soon!
