Chatter Cheater Quilt {Free Pattern}

 Hi all, it's Holly from the home office again, here to share a quick and easy quilt using the new Adorn-it Rhapsody Bop fabrics.

This quilt came together quickly because I used the cheater panel for the main body of the quilt top. The best part about this panel is it really makes the quilt look more intricate than it is.  Using the panel cuts down on sewing time, without sacrificing design.

For the backing, I used the popular Chatter fabric. I used a large stipple pattern for the quilting, but you could alternatively stitch around each square, giving a patchwork effect.

 The quilt is baby size, about 36x44.

Arrows Aweigh {Boy Quilt}

Hi there! I have a fun, quick quilt to show you guys today! About two weeks ago, I was asked by a friend to make twin baby boy quilts for her new nephews! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make these quilts, so I thought I'd share them with you!

This pattern is SO simple, and easy.  It comes together quickly, and can easily be made bigger by adding more blocks.  You could also make the blocks bigger, if you wanted to make a larger quilt.

I was told that the twin's room was done in navy and gray, and so I had fun picking out some awesome navy and gray prints.  I wanted these quilts to be boyish, without being "babyish" if that makes any sense.  I thought I really achieved that with the simple and clean lines of this pattern.

 My friend and I had decided it would be a good idea to have something to make each one different, so they could tell which quilt belonged to which boy.  We thought it would be fun to make the backings different.  I quilted both quilts with organic wavy lines.  It gave the quilt a nice texture, but kept the overall quilt simple.

Simple Sixteen Free Quilt Pattern

Hi there! I am really excited to share this quilt with you guys today for Christmas in July! 

This quilt has been in the works for a little while now, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!   This quilt was made from the Back Porch Prints from Wilmington Prints.  These prints are 1930's inspired Christmas prints, and are really spectacular.   To stick to the vintage theme, we thought it would be great to use a linen fabric for the background fabric.  The two different fabrics really play well with each other and give it an awesome vintage vibe and great texture.

Free Paper Pieced Pattern

 Hello lovely quilty types! I’m Kristy from Quiet Play, and am rather excited to be guest posting here at Fort Worth Fabric Studio!

I love to quilt, but truly, my heart belongs to paper piecing. And so, the project I’m sharing today is a foundation paper pieced one. For those who are not yet paper piecing fans (I have high hopes that might change!), let me assure you that the pattern is suitable for confident beginners – and more importantly does not contain any of those dreaded y-seams! Seriously, does anyone like y-seams?!

Now onto the project. I am a massive fan of Sketch prints and was thrilled to find a fabulous selection in the Fort Worth Fabric Studio shop! I designed this little bird print with a range of Sketch prints in mind. Look at this gorgeous bundle. Doesn’t it make your quilty heart sing? Yeah, mine too!



These prints were just begging to be made into something rainbow and bright and cheery and happy! And maybe with a bird. Because I like birds. So without further ado, here is the result! A Bird in Flight cushion! A sweet little bird in a rainbow of Sketch colours!

The centre panel is paper pieced – with the wings and tail of the bird just perfect to show off a range of colours or prints.

I added a plain border to frame the centre panel, and then decided to use a little more sketch for a cheery patchwork border around the outside.

The rest of the cushion is rather simple – just a basic envelope closure on the back. I kept all the fancy stuff for the front! Considering my youngest child (surely a quilter in the making) exclaimed ooh and ahh and hugged it straight away, I think it’s a winner.
