Strawberry Lemonade Pillow

Hi there! I have a really fun pillow to share with you today! :)  When Tasha Noel's new line Vintage Market (SOLD OUT) came out, I fell in love!  I have a thing for strawberries, and the strawberry prints in this fabric are adorable!  I don't have a strawberry theme pillow in my ever-growing pillow cover collection, so I thought I better remedy that right away! ;)

When I finished sewing the pillow together, it just looked like summer! I especially love the fun bike print in the middle of the pillow! You could use any of the prints in her collection and fussy cut whatever part you like, to make it your own.

I did add a touch of quilting to the pillow, just some easy straight lines!  I love quilting my pillow covers, it gives them an extra bit of dimension and structure!  If you haven't quilted your pillow covers before, you should give it a try and see how you like it! :) (PS that quilt in the wagon, is my mom's quilt- she made it from Tasha's previous line Country Girls!--Isn't it the cutest?)

Alright, what do you say? Let's make one together!

I had a lot of fun sewing up this pillow!  I would love to see your pillow if you make one! lindsey@fortworthfabricstudio.com   :)

DIY Striped Pillow Tutorial

I have a pillow problem...I freely admit that!  They are my go to project when I really want to sew something, but only have 30 minutes to do so!

The other day, I was itching to sew...and I knew I wanted some more 4th of July inspired pillows.  So I came up with a simple striped pillow.  This would be a great beginner pillow project!  It's so versatile, you can use whatever color you want for your stripes, and it will take on a whole different look!

I love the navy against the linen! It has a very nautical feel to it, and it looks great with my flag pillow!

Alright, let's make one!

Supplies:
1/4 yard of linen
1/4 yard of navy fabric
3/8 yard of backing

1 14" pillow form

Cutting:
3 - 3" x 15" navy strips
3 - 3" x 15" Linen strips
2 - 10" x 15" rectangles (for backing)

Assembly:

1. Sew your strips together, alternating the blue and linen so that you have six strips sewn together.

2. Trim your front panel to 15" x 15"

For backing:

3. Hem your two pieces on one long side (about a 3/8" hem)

4. Place your front piece RIGHT SIDE UP, and then place your two backing pieces RIGHT SIDE DOWN they will overlap.  Line up all the edges.  The hem on the back pieces will be towards the center of the pillow. Pin into place.

5. Sew around the perimeter using a 3/8" seam allowance.  Snip off your corners, being careful not to go into the seam allowance.

Now turn your pillow cover right side out and press!

Insert your pillow and you're done!

Flag Pillow {Tutorial}

Hi there, and Happy first day of June! :)  I figured I should get a head start on making fun things for the 4th of July to decorate my house! :)  I really love to decorate my home for the different holiday's, and pillows are a great way to do that!

I love quick projects! But most of all I NEED to make quick projects! With three kiddos running around, the quicker the better! :)  I also love the instant gratification of a quick project like this one.  So simple, but so cute!

Alright! Let's get started!

Dresden Pillow Tutorial

Hi there, and Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there! :)  I have a fun project to share with you today!!

I have a current obsession with Dresden's! And you already know I have a slightly unhealthy relationship with pillows! So what better way to combine the two! :)

If you've never made a Dresden before, this is the perfect project to start with! It's just made with one dresden plate, so it's not overwhelming at all!  The other great thing about this project is that it's pre-cut friendly.  I used a charm pack to make my Dresden, so that makes it even more convenient!

I love how my little pillow turned it! The fabric in this pillow, just makes me happy! Ambleside is such a fun collection of soft tones and florals.  I added quite a bit of yardage to my stash of this collection because there are so many great stash prints in here!  I especially love the gingham in this collection! :) You can never have too much gingham in my opinion!

Alright, what do you say?! Let's get started!

Spring Throw Pillows

Do you ever have those days where you really want to sew, but you only have a few minutes to spare?  Well, that's pretty much how my life is! :) I have three small kiddos running around, so my sewing time during the week is pretty much non-existent.  So on days that I really need my sewing fix, I love to make pillow covers.

They are are quick, easy, and they always add a fun accent to any room in the house! I have quite the collection of pillow covers, and I just take them off and switch them out to the new season or holiday for that month.

So yesterday, my husband surprised me and got off work about an hour early, and so I had exactly a 1/2 hour to sew, before my oldest had to go to dance.  I ran to my sewing room, got out this fabric I've been hoarding for a while now, and decided that I needed some Spring pillows! I whipped these up in  less than 30 minutes, and ran upstairs and photographed them before I ran out of light and then took my daughter to dance! How's that for some speedy sewing!

I adore this fabric from AdornIt! It's so cute, and it just has a spring vibe going on that I love!  I will tuck these into my special pillow spot where I can sit and stare at them! :)

Valentine's Day Pillow {Tutorial}

Hi there! Today I have a quick and easy project to share with you!!  I am a little obsessed with pillows.  I love making them for all the different holidays.  They add a fun holiday touch to any room in your house.  Plus they are quick! Which I love, because with three kiddos running around I don't have a ton of time to sew! So this is the perfect quick project to make while the kids are napping!

Valentine's Day Pillow

I have a love for simple blocks.  Especially the 4-patch.  So with the 4-patch in mind, I designed a quilt block just for this pillow! If you wanted to make an entire quilt from this block, it would look fabulous! :)

Improv Cross Pillow

Hi, my name is Jamie from Busy Bee Quilts and I have a fun pillow tutorial for you today!  Are you thinking about Valentine’s Day yet?  My December was one bout of sickness followed by another, so I am ready to go overboard on Valentine’s Day decorating to make up for a lousy Christmas holiday!  When I saw the Aqua Red Crush fat quarter bundle, I knew it would look bright and cheerful paired with linen, just the right color combination for January and February.  This month I am happy to bring you a tutorial for making this 18” improv cross pillow.
